ABOUT KATHLEEN ROBY
ARTIST BIOGRAPHY
Kathleen Roby has been painting for three decades. After a long career in labor law, she became a full-time artist and now devotes all of her time to creation.
As an abstract painter, she is particularly drawn to large formats, a space that allows her to fully unleash her creativity. She draws inspiration from her extensive travels around the world and extended stays in England and Australia. It was during a six-week artist residency in Australia that she was able to explore Aboriginal art in one of the largest Aboriginal reserves, Bidyadanga, located in the Western Territories of the continent. Her art is strongly inspired by this experience. She has participated in numerous creative sessions with extraordinary Aboriginal artists in the middle of the Australian desert.
Galerie ARTERIA and ARTXTERRA awarded her an honorable mention for the exceptional quality of her application and her original works submitted during the "Exhibit in New York" competition in September 2024. In addition, she was the recipient of a Certificate of Artistic Merit awarded by The Luxembourg Art Prize Competition for three consecutive years, from 2022 to 2024.
An elected member of the Society of Canadian Artists (SCA), she had some of her works juried for international online exhibitions in 2024 and 2025. Her collectors include RIO TINTO and Martin Léon. She exhibited in New York at the Affortable Art Fair in September 2024. She is currently exhibiting her works at Galerie L'Art de Vivre in Arvida, Quebec.
