ABOUT KATHLEEN ROBY
ARTIST BIOGRAPHY
Kathleen Roby has been painting for three decades. After a long career in labor law, she became a full-time artist. Since 2021, she has honed her skills with various renowned professors both internationally and in Quebec. She now dedicates all of her time to expressing her creativity.
As an abstract painter, she is particularly drawn to large formats, a space that allows her to fully unleash her creativity. She draws inspiration from her many travels around the world and her extended stays in England and Australia. It was during a six-week artist residency in Australia that she was able to explore Aboriginal art in one of the largest Aboriginal reserves, Bidyadanga, located in the Western Territory. Her art is deeply influenced by this experience. She participated in numerous creative sessions with extraordinary Aboriginal artists in the heart of the Australian desert.
The ARTERIA Gallery and ARTXTERRA awarded her an honorable mention for the exceptional quality of her application and original works submitted during the "Exhibit in New York" competition in September 2024. In addition, she was awarded a certificate of artistic merit by The Luxembourg Art Prize Competition for three consecutive years, from 2022 to 2024.
As an elected member of the Society of Canadian Artists (SCA), she had some of her works selected by jury at international online exhibitions in 2024 and 2025. She also served as a juror in the spring of 2025 for the selection of new elected members of the Canadian Society of Artists (SCA).
Her collectors include Rio Tinto and Martin Leon. She exhibited in New York at the Affortable Art Fair in September 2024. Currently, she is a permanent artist at Galerie L'Art de Vivre in Arvida, Quebec.
