In this work entitled Abstraction automnale 2, Kathleen Roby, a contemporary abstract painter, explores the melancholy of late autumn.

 Created on a gray, rainy day, this piece captures the hushed atmosphere of Métabetchouan as the last warm hues of the foliage slowly give way to a more sober palette. Layers of acrylic, collage, and texture reveal subtle contrasts between light and opacity, evoking the seasonal transition.

 This work is part of a series inspired by the municipal park, a true natural muse for the artist.
