"Le cavalier" is a powerful work, born from a long, intense and introspective creative process . Each layer applied to this canvas was the result of a constant dialogue between intuition and observation, between chaos and structure. This painting is the fruit of several days of research , of superimposing materials, of liberated gestures, sometimes impulsive, sometimes meditative.
The central subject of the rider revealed itself to me after a while: a noble and resolute character, brandishing his sword, as if frozen in a moment of courage and power. I chose to preserve this apparition and to nourish it visually by the contrast between the materials (marble powder, ashes, collages, gold leaf) and a strong palette dominated by deep red, charcoal black, and flashes of turquoise and gold.
The rich textures , the gestural precision , and the presence of raw elements such as ashes and charcoal contribute to making this work a carnal, inhabited, almost warlike piece , where vulnerability meets strength. "Le cavalier" embodies a presence that transcends time, an inner figure of resistance and grandeur.
