Created on watercolor paper, BLEU 1 is the first work in a trilogy dedicated to the sensitive exploration of the color blue. The artist challenges the traditional perception of blue as a cold hue, seeking to imbue it with an unexpected warmth. Through layers of pigment, plays of light, and mineral textures, the composition reveals a palette of nuanced, enveloping, and luminous blues.
In this work, the dominant blue transforms and evokes a feeling of comfort, comparable to a gentle breeze heralding the first chills of winter. This warm atmosphere naturally led to the creation of the HOME series, inspired by the need for coziness and refuge inherent to the winter season in Quebec, where the home becomes a space of comfort, calm, and intimacy.
