"Ce que disent mes mains 1" inaugurates a trilogy of works in which Kathleen Roby explores a deeply intuitive and tactile approach to contemporary abstract art.
Created entirely by hand, this piece reveals a free gestural approach where fingers, traces and markings become the true instruments of creation.
The artist carefully prepares the surface, layering textures and materials before applying a mixture of pigments, pastels, and collage. The liquids naturally follow the contours of the paper, guided by the instinctive dance of her fingers. A subtle, asemic script emerges, suggesting an inner narrative where words transform into a visual whisper.
This work, rich in depth and movement, bears witness to an intimate dialogue between matter and gesture, offering the viewer an immersion in the raw and sensitive expression of the artist's hands. The first piece in the series Ce que disent mes mains 1, it embodies its essence: a direct, organic, and poetic connection between the body and color.
